3-Meter and Platform experience will make you more attractive to college coaches, but it is not necessarily required. It will be pretty hard to get scholarship money from an NCAA Division I school if you don't have 3-meter experience, but many of these schools will still let you "walk-on". Once you get there, you're going to have to train and compete on the high boards just like everyone else. If college is still a couple years away, try to find a team in your area where you can get some 3-meter experience. Towers are a little harder to come by, but if there is a pool in your area with a 10 meter, chances are good that there is a coach near by that may be willing to train you. Also, try to get in contact with the diving coaches at a couple colleges and ask them what they require. Many college programs have web-sites now, so with a little 'surfing' you can probably find phone numbers for the swimming and diving coaches at many universities. Good luck with your search! Diving in college is a wonderful experience, so don't let this stand in your way!!
