Hi, Jaime!

My guess is that you will LOVE diving. It's a very fun sport and one that you can get a real sense of accomplishment from. I have some advice for you -- be patient with yourself and with your scores once you start competing. At first, it may seem that there is SO much to learn and so many details to remember in the middle of a dive, but with practice, you will find that your instincts start to take over. You will have practice days that are AWFUL and then follow them up with days that feel nearly perfect.

I don't know any diver who is pleased with how quickly they progress -- they all seem to be so impatient with themselves in learning new dives. So take your time, center yourself, and have fun with the dives!

Good luck!

Karen

: Hi,
: I am a VERY new diver. In fact, I still have yet to start. I am 11 years old. My mother called a diving coach on Sun. Now its Wed. night and I just found out about this site. All of my experience-VERY BAD regular, swan, jack knives and baskwards divs off my backyard diving board. I REALLY want to start. I got the insperation this summer. The Olympics. Laura Wilkinson. Wow. I realized that Whenever I went off the backyard diving board, I couldn't stop. It was soooo much fun. So I stated going to a high diving pool.I looooved it. So now I take lessons. I would like to know if anyone has any websites, clubs, ANYTHING that has to do with diving and southern Florida.
: Thank you sooooooooooooo much.
