Hmmm...let's think about this for a minute. Now I don't know where you are from and who your high school coach is, but there are some REALLY dumb high school coaches where I come from. They are assisstant swim coaches who are helping the head coach get every point he/she possibly can, even if that means putting divers up who don't quite have the basics down. I have seen a lot of injuries and even more close calls because of dumb coaches and I can guarantee there would be a LOT more if platform or even 3 m springboard were allowed. I, personally, was lucky and was coached by a US Diving coach for high school. Most people I know weren't quite that lucky.
: i think that all high schools need to get platform boards. also, since there are many events in swimming, and the two sports have meets together, i think it's only fair to have 5m platform diving as a high school event. this would also prepare us better for college. i know that i love diving platform, and i think that it would be great to see more than one diving event in high school, and it would be great to see more platform divers. thanks!
