REGINA DIVING CLUB Seeks Head Coach

The REGINA DIVING CLUB is a parent directed organization that has been in operation since 1986. During that time, we have taught thousands of children the sport of diving.  The club is both recreational and highly competitive in nature.  Our Club currently has approximately 100 members, including our Learn to Dive Students.

The Regina Diving Club is targeting its future diving programs at achieving athletic excellence both Nationally and Internationally, and to do so is seeking a uniquely gifted individual to assume the duties of HEAD COACH.

The responsibilities of the Head Coach include:

·         Oversee the development of the entire diving program from the grass roots level to the senior level.

·         Responsible for the development and training of competitive divers.

·         Responsible for planning and overseeing the development of training for non-competitive divers. 

·         A good team player with the proven ability to maintain good working relationships with athletes, coaches and parents.

·         Must be able to work effectively with the Regina Diving Club’s Board of Directors, attending and participating at Board meetings.

·         Provide expertise and support in managing assistant coaches and junior coaches.

·         Hold regular coaches meetings to discuss development of athletes and programs, issues and planning activities.

·         Represent our club at Provincial and National diving association meetings, as required.

·         Accompanying Regina Diving Club athletes on out-of-town meets, providing a secure and safe environment.

·         Organize or assist in the organization of meets held in Regina and sponsored by our Club.

Skill Requirements:

·         Level 3 NCCP certified coach, preferred.

·         A team player with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with athletes, coaches and parents.

·         National/International coaching experience.

·         Proven ability to develop National level athletes.

·         Excellent organizational and communication skills.

·         Superior leadership qualities.

·         Excellent management skills to manage the club and the diving program.

·         Demonstrates a positive attitude and works well with children.

·         Demonstrates professional behavior when dealing with athletes and parents.

The successful applicant will be one whose goals as Head Coach align with those of the Regina Diving Club, in creating a quality environment for our young athletes to achieve their potential, goals and dreams in the sport of diving, and acquire the life-skills of pride, discipline, loyalty and commitment.

The position will be located in Regina, Saskatchewan. Regina will be the host city for the 2005 Canada Games.
