WENBO CHEN
WENBO CHEN Born in Zhan Jiang, Guang Dang, China, Wenbo trained
and dived for the Chinese National Team 1973-1983. He was
a two-time National Champion in 1977and 1980. From there he
began his coaching career by coaching the Chinese National
Diving Team from 1985 until 1991. Chen has trained Chinese
National, Olympic and Asian Champions. He added to his many
experiences by coaching Internationally in Germany, Austria,
Italy, USSR, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Canada, and
the United States. He decided to make Moultrie his home and
brought his wife, Wen Yin Han and daughter Amy Yao to be a
part of Moss Farms Diving in 1994. The recent addition of
his second daughter Annie, has given Moss Farms another future
diving tiger.
Wenbo has added to his accomplishments while here by being
selected as the 1997 Senior National Indoor Diving Coach of
Excellence by his peers and led our women's team to earn the
points to finish second at the 1997 Speedo National Diving
Championships in Auburn, AL. That same year Brooke Bassham
was a National Champion on 1M. Jud Campbell, a former Moss
Farms Diver under Wenbo's instruction & now diving for
the University of Georgia, was the 1M South Eastern Conference
Champion in 1999. Chen was an integral part of leading Clayton
Moss to triple Gold medals in the Can-Am-Mex International
Diving Championships and Katie Beth Bryant finishing with
1 Gold and Lane Bassham with a Silver and Bronze at the Can-Am-Mex.
He has coached the team of Lane Bassham and Lauryn McCalley
to a Gold Medal in 2000 in the Synchronized Diving 3M event
at the Senior Indoor National Championship qualifying them
for the Senior National Team. For two years prior, Bassham
& McCalley were 3M Silver Medallists in Synchronized Diving
also qualifying them for the Sr. National Team. And finally,
Chen coached Lane Bassham at the 2000 Olympic Trails at Federal
Way, Seattle, WA.
