for Competition Nov. 20th
HELP!! NYU has scheduled their family/alumni
day on November 20th. We will be competing against Swarthmore
College but alas they have no divers. We would like to
host a collegiate team at our pool for a diving only meet
on the same date at 11 AM. If anyone wants to

Of all the teams Dr. Rick Schavone has
coached in the last two and a half decades, he sees something
special in this year’s squad of women’s divers.....“It
was probably the finest first meet I’ve had in 26
years of coaching. I was just ecstatic.”
One is an accomplished gymnast, while
the other is one of the area's top wrestlers. Both gravitated
towards diving for different reasons, but one can't argue
with the results.

said sociology freshman Katherine La Mee. "And it
was nice to see the boys."
Leading up to the Olympic Games in August, Kunkel's life was
programmed, in and out of the pool. Suddenly, she is on
her own. "It's quite an adjustment," said Kunkel,
who attended Hunter High and Brigham Young University.
"It's hard to get back into life. You've been through
such a big thing. . . . It's just weird."

The first ever video system is to be introduced to
help the judges at the upcoming Chinese National Diving
Championships to be held here from Oct. 14 to 19, officials
from the Chinese Swimming Association (CSA) revealed on
Tuesday.
Viraj, who became the first ever to
claim all the three top honours -- one metre springboard,
three metre springboard and high board -- in a single
event, scored 327.05 points setting a new meet record.
The 23-year-old Nasik diver was making his first appearance
in the nationals and has trained under American coach
Keith Russell at Utah in USA from 1998
to 2003.
This groundbreaking project is the brainchild of UK
Sport, the nation’s elite sport agency, and is aimed
at ensuring that a new generation of British coaches will
be available to pick up the baton in the lead-up to Beijing
in 2008 and potentially, London in 2012.
The crowd favourite was Olympic diver Robert Newbery,
who modelled with his gold medallist wife Chantelle. The
Athens bronze medallist entertained the crowd with a new
move every time he sauntered down the catwalk. He strutted,
he danced, he swept his wife off her feet – and
topped it off with a full backflip. Chantelle, we have
to say, looked slightly embarrassed by her husband's antics.

at McEntire Air National Guard Station....At the Olympics,
the brothers finished sixth. Soon after, Justin Dumais
learned he did not win the fierce competition for one
